Tunnel Rush with Shade Playground Structure in Primary
Tunnel Rush with Shade is the same compact, vertical school-age playground for ages 5 to 12, with an integrated overhead canopy that shades the upper deck and slide entries from direct sun. An enclosed tunnel slide, a wave slide, climbers, and a curved bridge connect across elevated decks. The Primary palette of blue, yellow, and red brings high contrast and energy: schoolyards, public parks, and high-traffic civic spaces where the playground works as a visual landmark.
The 29 ft x 29 ft use zone holds 30 to 34 children at one time. The shade canopy mounts to the same post system as the main structure and shares the same use zone footprint.
The integrated blue shade canopy reduces direct sun exposure on the deck, slide entries, and climbing surfaces. This is especially valuable on sites with limited tree coverage in regions with high UV index or extended summer heat. Shade does not eliminate the need for sunscreen or hydration, but it extends comfortable use of the playground during peak sun hours.
Tunnel Rush with Shade is designed to meet ADA accessibility guidelines and is commercially compliant with ASTM and CPSC.
Where Tunnel Rush with Shade fits
Sized for elementary schools, parks departments, churches, campgrounds, and HOA common areas in regions where overhead shade matters: the Sun Belt, southwestern states, and other high-UV zones. The 7 ft critical fall height requires safety surfacing rated for that drop: poured-in-place rubber, engineered wood fiber, or rubber tile installed to the depth that meets the fall height specification.
Also available in the Natural palette (green, brown, tan, with tan canopy), or without shade: Tunnel Rush in Primary.

Full Specifications
Compliance & Certifications
Hercules playground structures are designed and manufactured to meet ADA accessibility guidelines, ASTM standards for public playground equipment, and CPSC public playground safety guidance.
Equipment compliance is one part of a compliant playground. These standards apply to the structure as manufactured. The finished playground meets them only when it is installed to specification, the use zone is laid out and kept clear as specified, and safety surfacing is rated and maintained for the structure's critical fall height.
Installation, use zone layout, and surfacing are the owner's responsibility, carried out by your installer. Hercules supplies everything your installer needs to do it correctly: a full installation manual ships with every structure, along with product specifications including critical fall height and use zone dimensions.
Hercules manufactures and supplies playground structures intended for commercial use in municipal, school, religious, recreational, and HOA settings.
